Antique Turkish Yoruk 4'7"×9'10"
C. 1890 Probably Kurdish from Gaziantep in SE Anatolia, this all wool rustic kellegi (long rug) shows a pole medallion of five joined hexagons edged in off white curled hooks, enclosing navy reserves. Coral red field with double right triangle side fillers. Hooked diamonds run along the field sides. Ochre border with hooked diamonds, hooked stars and bar separators. Macrame braided end finishes. Medium rustic weave. Good condition.
