Antique Turkish Anatolian Bergama 3'7"×3'8"
C. 1860 Possibly from Canakkale, this small, square namazlik (prayer rug) shows a pumpkin red subfield with an apical blue ewer and stepped cream rosette-filled brackets over paired stylized flowers. Royal blue surround and ecru field with small rosettes. Straw-mustard main border with geometric flowers and inner red border with squared four petal motives. Visible end reduction and off-colour reweaves up the centre. An authentic antique from around ancient Troy. Fair condition, medium-coarse village weave on wool.
