New Pakistani Kashan-design 8'2"×10'3"
The 17th century “Vase carpet” design is antique, but never gets old, inspiring generations of carpet designers. Here it works at medium scale on the ecru-straw ground with a two level, wiry vinery large lattice anchored by tilted and upright layered petal palmettes. The reserves so defined are uniformly filled with verdant stems. En suite border with five-rosette flowers and hyacinth sprays. Well-woven, cotton foundation. As new condition. Pattern and tonality close to much post-1920 Tabriz work.
