New Pakistani Kashan-design 8'1"×8'2"
Closely following the central Persian urban archetypes, this well-woven piece shows a saturated garnet red field with a “Shah ‘Abbas” pattern of two vinery levels anchored by tilted, upright and lazy sharp petal palmettes, all around a central ivory cartouche. Barbed lancet leaves and sinuous cloud bands add variety. Navy border of outwardly – facing petal palmettes, botehs and rosettes. Perfectly balanced drawing. A characteristically formal Persian-style, curvilinear carpet. Cotton foundation. As new condition.
