New Ghazni Afghanistan Mansion Carpet 16'0"×22'8"
Looks like an urban Tabriz, but actually it is a totally comparable Afghan carpet with a medium brown subtly abrashed field displaying a layered forked arabesque allover design in the 17th century Kerman “Vase Carpet” manner, accented in straw, sand, chocolate and buff-tan. Ragged palmettes, rosettes, broken and straight floral sprays and “batwing” palmettes repeat overall. Cream border with reversing turtle palmettes, rosettes and barbed leaves. Oblique turtles with long arms in the corners. Medium weave. As new condition.
