Antique Turkish Kilim 6'0"×16'2"
C. 1860 The ivory field of this rather unusual bipartite slit tapestry weave long kilim shows a five module repeat of eight-armed “octopus” tentacle and finial voluted abstract shapes alternating in red and teal, all with densely hooked edges. Abrashed red to brown border of small hooked lozenges/diamonds. Extra ivory end strips with meander and stylized flowers. All wool construction. Very striking. Good condition.
