Antique Persian Ahar 2'11"×10'10"
C. 1950 Ahar is a large town in the Heriz district that has lent its name to solidly woven rustic carpets from that area, especially in the Post WWII era. Here the brick red field displays three similar octofoil medallions in navy and red, with cream or rose sub-medallions. Mustard yellow details .Skinny straw border with ribbon meander and attached triangles. Cotton foundation, medium-coarse weave. Good condition.
