Antique Turkish Konya 4'2"×6'4"
This antique Turkish rug is a Konya carpet woven circa 1900. These rugs are woven in or near Konya, an ancient city on the central Anatolian plateau in modern-day Turkey. Historical records describing Konya rugs exist since at least the 13th century, making them among the oldest of catalogued rug types. Most older Konya pieces are today in the collections of museums and textile societies. The majority of pieces available on the market were woven in the 1800s.
