Antique Persian Jozan Sarouk 3'7"×4'11"
Jozan lies between Malayer and Sarouk, combining the symmetric knots of the former with the compact, leathery texture of the latter. Here the unusual ecru field is fixed by a scalloped, barbed and nested red and pumpkin, escutcheon-pendant medallion, supported by spiral vines (islimi) accented by triple clusters of red roses. Characteristic Jozan looped tendril pattern border on red ground. Cotton foundation, medium–fine weave. Good condition.
