Semi-Antique Persian Sennah Kilim 4'1"×6'2"
C. 1950 The town of Sehna (Sanandaj) and its satellite villages weves slit-tapestry rugs, often with, as here, medallion patterns. The navy field, ecru sub-field and rust medallion all share a unidirectional flower and tiny bird pattern. The zig-zag outlines keep the slits to minimal size. The brisk red border shows stylized flowers with chalices. Bright palette, wool pattern wefts on cotton warp. Good condition.
