Semi-Antique Persian Ahar 3'6"×11'1"
C. 1950 This better Ahar-quality village runner shows a rust-red field displaying two columns of petal rosettes, ecru palmettes, angular stems and eccentric leaves and florets. Narrow dark blue main border with rosettes and ecru bracket stems. Heriz runners (kenares) of this quality are quite rare and this medium rustic weave piece on cotton, with its broad natural dye palette, is particularly attractive. The broad width is more typically Persian than Western. Good condition with light, selective wear.
