Three large quadrilobe cartouche medallions in abrashed pale blue, abrashed medium blue and navy, all with inner rosette and stiff stem ornaments, dominate the clear red field with a semi-geometric supporting scatter of leaves, forked arabesques and flowers, all in sapphire blue, green, ecru and straw. Navy strip-style border with simple geometric reversing turtles, botehs and rosettes. A Ay attractive carpet in the best NW Persian rustic tradition even if it was woven elsewhere. Medium weave, cotton foundation. As new condition.
