New Indian Transitional Design 6'2"×9'0"
The pattern of this abrashed powder blue ground piece has everything: border rosettes from Caucasian Kufic borders; a squared border meander with East Turkestan/Chinese fretwork; floating, outline eshir Turkmen “bugs”; and various bits from antique Oushaks and Bakshayesh Herizes. Rectangles, floret arrays and imaginative devices fill in. How does one describe some of these elements? Looks familiar, but never all together like this. Abrashed outer buff-salmon border with ivory four floret crosses. Medium weave on cotton. Amaze your rug friends to see how many motives they can identify. As new condition.
