Antique Persian Afshar 5'0"×6'3"

This antique Persian carpet was woven by members of the Afshar tribe inhabiting the southeastern areas of Persia, particularly around the cities of Kerman and Shiraz. Afshar carpets are notable for their blend of tribal and city designs. This piece features a beautiful palmette design set on an ivory field. It was woven in the early 1900s, most likely near Kerman.
