New Persian Kabistan 4'7"×5'6"
C. 1910 No such Caucasian place as Kabistan, but this moderately well-woven all wool construction scatter shows the characteristic Chi-Chi pattern of rosettes and diagonal bars in the main order, reversing hearts in the minors, and rows of little “Memling guls” and stepped lozenges in the near black field. Mustard accents abound in the stylized leaves and elsewhere. Plain scarlet outer surround. Good condition with a darker palette than usual for Chi-Chi rugs.
