C. 1925 From the “covered ground” Interwar period, this well-woven, wholly urbane piece shows a fantasy four-way assemblage of barbed leaves, stretched botehs, elastic vines and a close background fill, in two layers, on the cochineal read ground with accents in pistachio, teal, cream sand, ochre and numerous other natural tones. A multi-petal rosette and four barbed boteh leaves form the centerpiece of this exceptional carpet. Cream border of botehs, volute and forked acanthus arabesques and various palmettes. Cotton foundation. These carpets are out of fashion right now and there is a real artistic opportunity here. Good condition.
