Antique Persian Kerman 3'3"×12'3"
C. 1925 From the “Classic Period” in modern Kerman weaving, this finely woven, cotton foundation urban carpet shows a subtly abrashed mulberry cochineal ground with a “Vase Carpet”-derived allover pattern of unidirectional palmettes on a broad, two-level arabesquerie, all detailed in royal blue, teal, medium blue, ecru, light green and salmon. Navy border with reversing petal palmettes. Broad, but subtle natural dye palette. Small areas of spot wear. Slightest end reduction. Fairly good condition.
