Antique Persian Kashan 3'6"×5'2"
C. 1935 Kashan weavers love red, but here it is restricted to the stepped, tall medallion, half pendant palmette corners and the red border with a forked acanthus meander and in-and-out palmettes. The field is old ivory with a single layer four way pattern of palmettes, stemmed rosette clusters and barbed sickle leaves. Urban, well-woven, with a short, firm pile. Cotton foundation. Good condition.
