Antique Northwest Persian Long Rug 3'6"×8'0"
C. 1910 Showing Caucasian influences, the navy field displays a close cover of three columns of bent leaf-defined octagons enclosing stars, with lozenge minor devices. The red main border features a stylized flower pattern common to rugs from Azerbaijan and Kurdistan in the north to Fars in the southwest. Octagon chains with four-leaf clovers in the minors. Wool foundation. Medium rustic weave. Fairly good condition except for spot wear in centre of field.
