Semi Antique Heriz 9'11"×13'3"

C. 1940 Mid-century Herizes tend to be rather busier, with lots of patterns avoiding any horror vacui effect. Here the stepped red field contains a veritable plethora of semi-geometric leaves and palmettes, and displays a pendanted navy octogrammed palmette medallion. Cream conjoint corners with small leaf and flower patterns. Navy border with triangular petal palmettes, sickle leaves and angular vinery. Medium-coarse weave. Cotton foundation. Heavy handle.  Good condition.
