Antique Persian Fereghan 8'5"×21'0"
This large gallery-size carpet was woven in the Fereghan area of 19th century Persia. The all-over design of repeating “boteh” figures dominates the field, only interrupted by four undersized corner spandrels in ivory. The multiple borders in ivory and red have complex, intricate patterns afforded by the high knot density of this piece. The carpet is in excellent condition for its age.
