Antique Persian Bakhtiari 10'5"×10'6"

This late 19th century carpet is a far cry from the typical Bakhtiari pieces in the market.  The black field and red border are a dramatic background for the wonderful vase design in the field. Each vase contains an array of flowers interspersed with cabbage roses.  The square format is one more unusual feature.
