The Kareem Collection

Minasian Rug Company is honored to represent an important collection of unique rugs and carpets acquired over the last 40 years by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. These pieces are magnificent examples of the richness and diversity of 19th century tribal and village weavings and were selected by Mr. Abdul-Jabbar during his frequent travels throughout the world. Each piece speaks not only of the significance of the weaver but also of Mr. Abdul-Jabbar’s own exquisite personal taste. Additionally, each piece was chosen for its beauty and importance in maintaining the rich culture and tradition of a nearly lost art.
