C. 1890 The madder ruby red field displays a broad pole medallion of four attached hexagons, each enclosing a generously hooked ivory lozenge. Small rustic quadrupeds line up along the field sides along with filler stars and other geometric devices. Characteristic ecru Akstafa border of rams’ horn hooked squares enclosing octagons. Red minors with fat crosses. Broad palette including: red, straw yellow, cream, salmon-camel, navy and green. Very light wear with knot-beading. Moderate rustic weave, light wool weft. Generally good condition.
