The very deep wine red field shows a portion of a large scale “Vase Carpet” pattern with thick vinery, large tilted petal palmettes, standing poppy plants and a central petal rosette. Accents in ecru, sand, green and burnt salmon. Black border with daisy and multi-colour rosettes, leafy stems and broken sticks. The original pattern appears on larger antique carpets. Urban, medium weave on cotton, shortish pile. As new condition.
