Antique Caucasian Chi-Chi Kuba 4'4"×6'4"
This is a fine example of Northeastern Caucasian rugs from the Kuba district known as Chi-Chi, woven around 1880. It has a wonderfully intricate main border and matching three minor borders on either side divided by narrower barber-pole borders adding more playful pleasure for the eyes. Rows of star-like rosettes alongwith other stylized leaves, flower-heads and traditional motifs repeating in the field create a delightful aesthetic in the rug.
