Semi-Antique Persian Kerman 8'0"×10'7"
C. 1940 This thick pile, cotton foundation city carpet in the American style shows a plain straw-cream field centred by a pale blue medallion with a surrounding, conforming floral wreath. Extended corners with defining wiry arabesques, verdantly sprouting sprig flowers. Pale blue border with more wiry arabesques and broken corners. These Kirmans are drastically different from the finely woven, short pile antique pieces and this change in style was intended for American suburban houses. Good condition.
