Semi-Antique Persian Josheghan 3'7"×5'1"
You can spell it Joshogan, Josheghan, Joshagan, Joshaghan or …., but it still refers to exactly one style of city rug. With red, navy or ecru fields, a contrasting diamond semi-geometric medallion (nested and navy here), with small escutcheon pendants, en suite corners, and a most characteristic general pattern of lozenge-shaped flower arrays or single plants. Ivory border with squared palmettes and tilted leaf rolls. Cotton foundation, medium-fine, even weave. Good condition.
