Antique Turkish Van Kilim 3'5"×4'5"
C. 1900 The decoration enclosed by the two hooked and deeply nested lozenges dominating the field is a latter variation on that in our 1273, from a slightly distinct area and period. The palette here runs to cream, red, and near black. The ecru border shows rams’ horn lozenges between double separator bars along the sides and paired geometric S‘s on the ends. Slit tapestry technique, all wool construction, medium weave. Good condition.
