Antique Turkish Heriz 8'10"×11'8"
In the c. 1900 “Serapi” Heriz style with a straw-sand sub-field centred by a slightly abrashed dark blue irregularly stepped ogival medallion enclosing a lobed straw sub-medallion, and with herringbone stalks and geometric simple palmettes. Six large ragged petal palmettes grace the sub-field, and four more appear in the corners of the encompassing tan -buff field. Doubly bent leaves and rosettes decorate the border with genuine corner turns. Cotton foundation, medium weave. As new condition. No areas of saturated reds, unlike antique Persian Herizes.
