C. 1895 The near-black Herati pattern corners extend half pendants along the sides of the red Herati field enclosing a stepped lozenge medallion edged in yellow, with colour rows of reversing botehs in straw, cream, near black and red. Narrow border system with sky blue minors flanking a strawflower repeat popular in western Iran. Fine urban weave from the capital of Kurdistan, Sanandaj, or Senna. Slit tapestry weave. Thin and textile-like. Good condition.
