Antique Persian Sultanabad 9'10"×12'8"
C. 1895 Although in only fair condition, with visible issues, this open field, camel tone semi-coarse weave, cotton foundation village carpet shows substantial abrash and single weaver sections, and significantly reduced ends. Red madder border with bitonal swirling leaves and very ragged palmettes. The diagonal “lazy lines” show a transition from a faster to a slower weaver. An interesting artefact with unlimited furniture placement.
