Antique Persian Sarouk Fereghan 3'6"×4'9"
C. 1905 Transitioning between Feraghans and Sarouks, this scatter is well-woven on a cotton foundation, and displays a characteristic rust-coral red abrashed field centred by a stepped and lobed pendanted navy medallion supporting a 16-point ecru sub-medallion. Rosettes, vinery and larger profile blossoms in the field, and sandy ecru corners with large peacock tail palmettes. Navy border with rosettes, some elliptical, ragged palmettes and floret sprays. Visible narrow reduction at one end. Generally good condition.
