Antique Persian Sarouk 4'2"×6'3"
C. 1935 A small ecru cruciform medallion with smaller escutcheon pendants centres the mulberry red field with a close pattern of botehs, cloudbands, roses and verdant vases. Implicit border with escutcheon “hand” palmettes, botehs and rosettes. All accented in sand, teal, medium blue, dark blue, burnt salmon. Partially broken border system with a red stripe between old ivory-ecru bands, with palmette and upright flower décor. Solidly woven on cotton foundation, medium-short pile. Good condition.
