C. 1925 It has become trade practice to attribute high quality, evenly woven, blue “American Sarouk” style rugs to Mahajeran village. Here the rich navy field shows a widely spaced pattern of well-defined floral sprays, four in a hooked, boteh-like style. Crisp drawing with accents of green, red and ecru. Mulberry red border with fan palmettes and tendrils. Compact, medium-fine weave on cotton. Shortish pile. Good condition.
