Antique Persian Kurdish Senneh 4'5"×6'2"
C. 1895 This is a rare Kurdish town version of the “Zil-i-Sultan” allover pattern group. As is classic, this finely woven scatter shows a straw-sand field with a floral repeat adopted from 18-19th century Persian woven silk textiles. Details in brick red, pale green, rust-red. No blue areas or accents. Sandy-straw narrow main border of botehs and geometric palmettes. Minor stripes with near black and ecru semi-reciprocals. Cotton foundation, low-clipped pile. Visible end reduction. But generally good antique condition.
