C. 1895 The navy-black field is almost completely covered by offset rows of small, flattened green octagons and is centred by an ecru star within a hooked lozenge. Characteristic Kurdish flower module navy main border with tiny birds and two jaunty female figures, probably the weavers. Lesser borders with stars-in-octagons and interlocked or barbed S’s. Ecru, straw, camel-mustard, green, red, coral secondary tones. “Signed” with the weavers’ images. Wool foundation, moderate village weave. Good condition.
