New Afghan Ghazini 5'10"×7'1"
The classic 17th century “Vase carpet” pattern works everywhere, even with no vases, as here, on this red ground piece with various styles of lazy, tilted and upright oval, ragged and petal palmettes, in a bilevel vinery accented with small ecru blossoms. Central organizing petal eight rosette. Well-abrashed green border with cypresses alternating with five rosette flowers. Ivory guards with slanted, barbed two-point leaves. Cotton foundation, medium weave. As new condition.
