Since 1897, Minasian Rug Company has been a world-class purveyor of handmade antique, vintage, and fine new rugs and carpets from its headquarters on Chicago’s beautiful North Shore
Armen and Carnig Minasian are proud to continue the traditions of quality, selection and customer service that are the hallmarks of their third generation family business. The Minasian team has decades of experience working with interior design professionals, corporate consultants and private individuals who are in search of the finest antique or contemporary rugs and carpets. Whether it’s a custom installation for a private jet, a palace sized antique for a governor’s residence or an ancient rug for your family room, we are dedicated to the complete satisfaction of our clients.
Over the years, corporate acquisitions have added the selected inventories of Chicago-based Nahigian Brothers, Inc. and the Joseph W. Fell Collection of antique rugs and textiles as well as supplying oriental rugs to Marshall Field’s department stores in the Chicago area, and to Dayton’s in Minnesota, Hudson’s in Michigan and Burdines in Florida.
In addition to civic and philanthropic activities, the Minasian Brothers are certified appraisers and members of the Oriental Rug Retailers Association. Armen serves on the Trustee-appointed board of the Art Institute of Chicago’s textile committee and as an officer of its Textile Society. Carnig teaches a course on Oriental rugs at Northwestern University and lectures at Chicago’s Frances Parker and Latin Schools. In 2001 he was appointed to the Advisory Council for The Textile Museum in Washington DC, an internationally recognized collection and center of textile study and research.
